The sculptures and paintings at the exhibition are part of the tradition of Tibetan Buddhist Karma Kagyu-lineage. They express mind’s perfect qualities and their function is to support the meditation of the practitioners and inspire them towards enlightenment. Enlightenment means a permanent state of happiness, where mind’s full potential is accomplished for the good of all beings.

The pieces of the exhibition are from private collections from all over Europe, including the collection of the German Diplomat Johann-J├╝rgen Blomeyer. Similar exhibitions have been organized previously in other European Capitals of Culture, for example in 2010 in the Ruhr region, Germany. The exhibition is organized by Diamond Way Buddhist Association of Turku in co-operation with the Museum Centre of Turku.
